D'Crypt

• D'Crypt develops very high security products, both hardware and software, for military and commercial customers.

• I developed C/C++ embedded software for security products. I defined the interfaces between components, including one for a zero-trust client. This allows secure access to VDI and RDP services in an unsecure environment, allowing Secure Computing Anywhere.

Hewlett-Packard Enterprise, Innovation Centre

• I was the technical loead for a few C/C++/Javascript projects. Project teams typically consist ofabout 5 developers and data scientists. I defined the system specifications, system architecture and API interfaces. Projects include social media application, High Performance Computing, automated resource allocation and automated attendance tracking.
• Automated resource allocation is a real-time platform for distributing and allocating consolidated IT resources according to requests and availability. The team consisted of 5 engineers and 2 full-time testers.
• Automated attendance tracking uses Bluetooth technology to track individuals entering and leaving a specified room, eliminating manual attendance taking. The team consisted of 3 engineers.

• I managed and delivered various large-scale projects, including managing the timeline, resource allocation and customer communications. I also provided recommendations on staff hiring and appraisal.
• Two of the AI projects I managed are for predictions of a supply chain material stock estimation and completion time estimation. Each of these involved 2 data scientists and 3 engineers.
• The Multi-Access Edge Computing (MEC) product was a $250K project and spans 4 geographic locations around South-East Asia. The customers are major telecommunication providers in the respective countries. We had 1 subject matter expert, 3 engineers and the support team from the vendor Saguna.
• The Open 5G Program is a $6M mobile network implementation that involved 4 different parties with a total of 20 headcount. The Customer is IMDA in collaboration with Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT). This is the first Open Standard 5G Implementation in Singapore.

Nanyang Polytechnic, School of Interactive & Digital Media

• I designed and conducted games programming courses, for both full-time students and part-time adult learners.
• I planned and conducted overseasstudy trips, including managing risks and overseas communications.
• I did timetable and resource planning for the entire school.

Linden Lab

• Linden Lab develops Second Life, the 3D virtual world used by millions of people, with billions of dollars transaction in its economy.

• I was selected by EDB for a 6-month technology transfer programme in San Francisco; the team successfully started the Singapore lab and established a working relationship with the US counterpart; I worked on various aspects of Second Life using C++ and OpenGL.

Lucent / CSG / Comverse Technologies

• I hired, built and managed the APAC release team; this team handles cross-functional requests from around the globe.

Motorola Electronics, Corporate Research & Technology Centre

• I was the release and configuration manager for software delivery; I also developed the software for mobile network, including the Authentication Center, which handles the security and access of users to the network.

Yellow Pages

• I developed in-house MIS applications used in the publication of the White and Yellow Pages; I had to engage end-users and manage their expectations; I was also the system and security administrator for the Unix system.

Institute of Systems Science, Neural Networks & Fuzzy Logic

• I developed software for an AI inferencing research project.
